Sunflower field

Summertime in France is overwhelming in more than one way. When I attended a Summer Research School in July 2006, the heat was overwhelming, averaging 40°C daily! And then there were the fields of sunflowers. What a wonderful sight! This picture was taken on 20 July 2006 near a small midieval town called Soréze in the Midi-Pyrenees, where the Summer School was hosted. I publish this picture today for a special friend on her birthday – have a great one!
