Peek-a-boo…Agama sees you!

This picture was taken on 29 November 2007 on the Whale hiking trail in the De Hoop Nature Reserve in the Overberg Region. We saw many agamas along the route. The Afrikaans name, Bloukop koggelmander, is very descriptive of the blue head of the breeding male. If they dash away while you are trying to take a picture, just remain still and wait a while. They usually return to their spot in the sun within a few minutes.
